Most habit apps are built around a simple idea: shame from a robot. A cartoon owl guilts you, a widget scolds you, a streak counter watches you sleep. It works for a week. Then you delete the app and keep the guilt.
We think the missing ingredient was never a better robot. It was your friends.
WhereIsMyBuddy (WMB for short) is a group accountability app. You pick something you want to do consistently, you invite people you actually know, and you show up for each other.
How it works
Create an activity. Morning runs, daily writing, gym three times a week, reading before bed. You set the schedule, so rest days are part of the plan and not a failure state.
Invite your buddies. Share a link or invite someone by their username. Small groups work best. These are your people, not an anonymous leaderboard.
Check in. On the days that matter, you check in. Everyone in the activity can see who showed up today. A small green tick next to a name says more than any streak animation ever did.
Notice each other. This is the part we care about most. When a buddy hits a milestone, you can send them a cheer card. When someone is struggling, you can leave a private note of support. It is quiet recognition rather than confetti.
Reflect weekly. Every week, WMB sends you a short Reflect email: what you did, what changed, and one honest headline about your week. No charts pretending to be insights.
And yes, for those who want the pressure, there is a committed mode with streaks. It is optional. Some people run on streaks and we respect that.
Where it stands
WMB is live at wmb.igit.space and currently in user testing. It is free while we learn from the people using it, and honestly, the testers are shaping the product more than we are. Come join them, and bring a buddy. That is kind of the point.
